I’m Maria. I come from a small Mediterranean island – if you’re thinking of bright sunshine, juicy fruit, clear turquoise sea, white sands, afternoon naps and jasmine scented nights, then you’ve got it exactly right – but for the last few years I’ve been living in England. I fell head over heels for London – it’s an ongoing love affair that involves exploring the secret passages at Temple, relaxing at the Kyoto Garden in Holland Park and feeling awestruck in the British Museum’s reading room – but, somewhat unexpectedly, it was the great English countryside that forever captured my heart – I can’t resist the green rolling hills, tiny cottages with rose gardens, meadows covered with wild flowers and happy ducks splashing about in gentle streams.
I live in Oxford with my boyfriend, The Boy. I’m working on submitting my PhD thesis while trying to figure out what my next step will be, which admittedly is no mean feat. In the meantime, I am devouring books, cooking and baking up a storm, wandering around medieval colleges, and indulging in long walks in the countryside. Oh, and I take pictures, loads of pictures!
I believe that life is an adventure, and I want to experience that every single day. In my pursuit of a balanced and beautiful life, I try to maintain my eagerness, curiosity, and positive outlook. It is my goal to find joy in the small, insignificant things, to see beauty everyday. This is the place where I share all my little loves, everything that inspires me and makes me smile, and all of my adventures and delights, however little they may be. I’m hoping that this blog will help me to connect with other fellow adventurers!
