Water, water everywhere!

It wasn’t so bad at first, really.

There was a little water on the path, sure.

But, with wellies on, you could easily walk through. It was an opportunity to wash the mud off my wellies too.

bookworm_water6The situation deteriorated fast. You couldn’t really see the path anymore. Small children, small dogs, and people on bikes started having trouble.

bookworm_water5The Thames flooded the footpaths,

and it started flooding the meadows.

In fact, it flooded the small lake in the meadows and made… a sea.

These floods have been really bad; I know many people’s garden and homes have been flooded. The water levels are only just now stabilised, who knows how long it will take for things to get back to normal. I think it will be quite some time before the meadows look like they used to again.

P.S. Here is my walking buddy swimming paddling walking along the path.
